Welcome to the world of LoveSpiritYoga in Sydney.

Yoga:

Yoga = means union – to ‘yoke’. Thus, yoga creates a thread with which we can connect more deeply with ourselves, with others, and with all that surrounds us. Through dedicated practice, we become more aware of this sense of union. Yoga was created more than 5000 years ago in India in its most simple effort to bring practitioners back into contact with themselves and offer them a direct spiritual experience. True happiness, liberation and enlightenment result from union with divine consciousness. You don’t have to believe in the spiritual side to practice yoga. Everyone can gain advantage from the psycho-physiological benefits that result from yoga and everyone deserves to feel good!

LoveSpiritYoga is created and directed by me, Kate Pippos. That’s me in the pictures.

My journey with yoga basically goes as follows: It is a love at first sight story. I fell in love with yoga asana when I went to my very first class in 2001. I still remember my teacher, her soft voice and gentle way of introducing yoga to my life. Soon enough, I found the real challenge presented in other facets of my life. As I began to still my mind I realised that I was doing the opposite – I would lie in Savasana and feel my whole head spinning. I couldn’t connect with the colours of the chakras and I couldn’t find physical stillness let alone mental stillness!

This permeated my entire life and brought me face to face with my values, weaknesses, strengths and dreams.

Admittedly, it has been easier to practice at some times more than others but I find inspiration in experimenting with different styles and teachers. I am a fully qualified and registered Yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance (RYT 200) and completed my official training at Samadhi Yoga, Newtown. My dedication to daily practice continues to provide me with a solid platform from which I continue to teach. It is one of my greatest wishes that yoga is accessible to every human on the planet.

I love that I am able to share the joy for a practice that has brought awareness, courage and peace of mind to both my life and the lives of those I teach. I believe that the transformative powers of yoga are innately potent and ultimately healing. That is why I decided to become a yoga teacher and share my passion with each and every individual I teach. I hope that I can inspire you to inspire yourself.

LoveSpiritYoga came about because of the awareness yoga has brought to my loving a higher and intuitive part of me, the part that is eternal.

It’s simple really …

Love = can be a verb or a noun. So you can do it, and have it. In Ancient Greece there were 3 main types of love; affectionate, friendly, and passionate. In Sanskrit, the ancient yogic language, there are over 20 types of love – including all of the above and more. Devotion is almost synonymous with love. In the current day context, for the yoga I teach, I like to look at love as a way to connect, as something to develop. Something to appreciate, cultivate and share.

+Spirit = that thing we all have inside us – that lives through us and within us, that unmistakable sense we have to sometimes do ‘irrational’ things … the Oxford concise says that spirit is “the non-physical part of a person” … LoveSpiritYoga says it’s that thing that makes us tick, that makes us know when our lives are going in the right or the wrong direction. And yes, sometimes we know we know but we don’t know what or why …

LoveSpiritYoga – love the higher part of you, be without question and come home to your true self. Yoga for all of you...
